1. Energy Storage Materials

a. Development of cathode materials based on lithium containing
complex oxides (LiMn2O4, LiNiO2) and phosphates (LiFePO4, LiNiPO4,
LiMnPO4) with high electronic conductivity and cycle life for
rechargeable lithium battery applications in bulk and thin film forms.

b. Development of nano-structured cathode materials LiFePO4 and
LiMnPO4 by sol-gel synthesis for developing lithium batteries with high
energy density and long term recyclability

c. Development of polymer based flexible Li-ion cells with high specific capacity
and improved cyclability

d. Fabrication of conducting polymer and graphene based supercapacitors




2. Polymers and Polymer Nanocomposites

a. Conducting polymers and polymer nanocomposites for
optoelectronic applications

b. Hybrid and Segmented block co-polymers as emmisve layers for Polymer LEDs and as active
layers for Organic Photovoltaic devices

c. Synthesis of polymer nanofibres for photovoltaic and sensor
applications

d. Graphene, graphene oxide and their polymer composites
for nanophotonic applications



3. Non-linear Optics

a. Investigations on the non-linear optical properties of conjugated, hybrid and segmented polymer systems.

4. Bio-nanophotonics

a. Development of bio-compatible and luminescent semiconductor quantum dots  for bio imaging and therapeutic applications
